Karl Ohlsen is from Rye, Colorado. He is a 1995 graduate of Reed College in Portland, Oregon, and a 2000 graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law. Mr. Ohlsen gained valuable experience during law school by clerking for the Denver office of Perkins Coie, LLP, and the Colorado Attorney General’s Office. Following completion of judicial clerkships in Boulder County District Court with the Honorable Lael E. Montgomery and the Honorable Morris W. Sanstead, Jr., Mr. Ohlsen joined Carlson, Hammond & Paddock, LLC, in 2001 and became a member in 2010. He represents various municipal, agricultural and private interest clients in water matters, real property, contracts, environmental issues, and general civil litigation, and is now acting on behalf of the firm as general counsel for the Colorado Water Resources and Power Authority.
